A new rainbow crosswalk has been painted at Kelowna General Hospital.

Executive Director Danielle Cameron said the crosswalk was painted on Oct. 12.

91ÂãÁÄÊÓƵœInterior Health has rainbow crosswalks at several sites across the region. This one here at Kelowna General Hospital was supported by the [KGH] foundation.91ÂãÁÄÊÓƵ

Cameron said it91ÂãÁÄÊÓƵ™s important that staff and patients all feel safe when visiting the hospital.

91ÂãÁÄÊÓƵœWe do have a formal Interior Health policy that speaks specifically to diversity, equity, and inclusion, and it91ÂãÁÄÊÓƵ™s very forefront in terms of both how we welcome staff into their roles as well as in the foundations of how we provide care.91ÂãÁÄÊÓƵ

The crosswalk sits at the Rose Avenue entrance to the hospital.
