Project Hop is coming to Kelowna's Mission Liquor Store on Friday, Feb. 14.

Have you ever wondered about the history of beer? More specifically, India Pale Ales (IPAs)?

Now is your chance as Project Hop, which searches the world for unique hops from local brewers is coming to Kelowna for a historic beer tasting.

Nathan, the brewer behind the project has been recreating beers based on the history of IPAs which goes back more than 250 years. The beers he makes are barrel-refermented and brewed with independent hop varieties like they were hundreds of years ago.

The event is taking place at Mission Liquor Store from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Valentine's Day (Friday, Feb. 14). The tasting aspect, along with a discussion about the beers and his brewing process is happening from 4 to 5 p.m.

It is free to attend and if you like the beers, Nathan has them available in cans to buy afterwards.
