West Kelowna Warriors shutout by Salmon Arm Silverbacks

The Salmon Arm Silverbacks shutout the West Kelowna Warriors 4-0 at Royal LePage Place on Friday, Feb. 7.

The slow start cost the West Kelowna Warriors as they were shutout 4-0 by the Salmon Arm Silverbacks on Friday night (Feb. 7).

Late in the first period, in the span of 2:33, the Silverbacks got goals from Patrick Raftery (7), Liam Bursaw (10), and Cole Cooksey (7) to all of a sudden go up 3-0. Cooksey's goal came on the powerplay.

At the 17:41 mark of the second frame, Dakota MacIntosh added his 18th of the season to extend the Silverbacks' lead to 4-0.

Salmon Arm's Andrew Ballantyne made 24 saves to earn the shutout while Warriors Bor Glavi膷 made 19 saves in the loss.

The Warriors are now 15-18-5-2, seventh in the Interior Conference while the Silverbacks are fourth at 21-12-6-0.

West Kelowna remains at home and welcomes the Vernon Vipers to Royal LePage Place on Saturday night, with puck drop at 7 p.m. Salmon Arm heads back home to welcome the Sherwood Park Crusaders to town. Puck drop is at 6 p.m.
