The Revelstoke Cricket Club were in Kelowna for their first competitive inter-city match of the season last weekend (June 18), and despite taking a loss on the pitch, they took another big step forward for cricket in Revelstoke.

According to Matt Bramall, Skipper of the Revelstoke Cricket Club, the event was a huge success. They had more than enough players for the full team weeks in advance, and everybody got involved on the day with enthusiasm and excitement.

Kelowna put their experience and skill on display while batting first, putting on a total of 274-3 off 35 overs. One of Kelowna91裸聊视频檚 players scored a 91裸聊视频榗entury91裸聊视频, which is when a batsman scores 100 or more runs in a single inning.

Rainy conditions made fielding difficult on the day, leading to some dropped balls. The Revelstoke Cricket Club also had to adjust to playing with hard balls, as they usually use soft balls on their home patch.

The rain wasn91裸聊视频檛 all bad, however, as an early stoppage led to an incredible smoked chicken lunch spread thanks to the Kelowna team.

Bramall said the hospitality shown to them by the Kelowna Cricket Club, on and off the pitch, embodies the type of cricket they want to play: fun, friendly, inviting, and social.

A full match recap from Skipper Bramall:

Kelowna Casuals won by 170 runs in a rain-affected match. Winning the toss and batting first, Kelowna put on a challenging total of 274-3 off 35 overs. The pick of our bowlers was Anoop Prabhakaran and Navdeep Samra, taking one wicket each. In the field, Gaurav Joshi kept the wicket brilliantly. Revelstoke batted valiantly but lost wickets regularly and were all out for 104 runs from 26 overs with Matt Bramall top scoring. Revelstoke can take huge positives from the game having increased their exposure to hardball cricket. Valuable lessons were learnt and the side will need to improve their catching, all-round fielding and running between the wickets when they face Kamloops on July 2.

Video highlights:

Cricket is growing across the Interior. In Salmon Arm, the city council recently approved and supported the space for a permanent cricket pitch at Safeway Fields. The project will see the installation of a concrete pad covered by a permanent mat, and the pitch itself will use the already-existing soccer fields that surround the site.

Now, the Salmon Arm club will be able to host teams from Vernon, Revelstoke, Kelowna, Vancouver, and more.

The Revelstoke Cricket Club has plans of establishing a permanent pitch in its own community, and Bramall says that the effort the club has been putting in since being re-established is making people take notice.

Next up, the Revelstoke Club will head to Kamloops on July 2 for a 30-over match against the Kamloops Cricket Club.

Bramall said the club is ready to build on the momentum they generated in Kelowna last weekend.
