Kelowna Skating °ä±ô³Ü²ú91ÂãÁÄÊÓƵ™s Emma Bulawka made it on to the podium at the Canadian Tire National Figure Skating Championships.
Bulawka, 13, turned in a silver medal performance in the novice ·É´Ç³¾±ð²Ô91ÂãÁÄÊÓƵ™s event at nationals, Jan. 16 to 22 in Ottawa.
She opened the event with a sixth-place finish in the short program, then catapulted her way to a medal thanks to a flawless free program that included four triple jumps.
At the Junior level, °±ð±ô´Ç·É²Ô²¹91ÂãÁÄÊÓƵ™s Olivia Gran and Mckenna Colthorp finished 10th and 11th, respectively, in the 18-skater field.
Meanwhile, in the senior dance event, long-time member Haley Sales and her partner Nik Wamsteeker finished in fifth place. Their top-five result earned a spot on Skate °ä²¹²Ô²¹»å²¹91ÂãÁÄÊÓƵ™s national team.
This is the premier figure skating event in Canada, as top skaters from across the country compete for national titles, podium berths and international team spots.
