Officers investigating a second shooting within a month on Penticton's Winnipeg Street Feb. 10.

Police are investigating after the second shooting in a month near a home on Penticton's Winnipeg Street.

Shots were reported Feb. 10 shortly before 10 a.m., with RCMP responding immediately to find no one injured according to a police press release.

Officers remained on scene to gather evidence and work towards identifying any possible suspects.

"This brazen disregard for public safety is deeply concerning," said Supt. Beth McAndie, Penticton South Okanagan Regional Similkameen Regional Detachment91ÂãÁÄÊÓƵ™s Commander. "Ensuring the safety of our community remains our Detachment's priority, and we're asking for the public91ÂãÁÄÊÓƵ™s assistance in this investigation. If you saw anything suspicious or have any relevant information, please report it to the police."

The property, in the 400 block of Winnipeg Street, was also the site of another shooting that took place in the last 30 days, although no specific information was shared about that previous incident.

The shooting is believed to have been targeted at a "known problem property." According to the press release, the RCMP are vigilantly monitoring the activities associated with the property following the shootings.

The RCMP are also working together on the property with the city's Public Safety Teams Property Standards Compliance Team (PSCUT), which formed at the end of January of 2025.

The group brings together the RCMP, City of Penticton Fire Department, Bylaw Services, and Development Services to address properties that have proven long-term issues where traditional methods at handling have not made improvements.

Investigators are urging anyone who witnessed any part of the shooting, or who was driving by the area around the time with dash-cam footage, to contact Penticton RCMP at 250-492-4300.
