A member of Canada's star-studded country music scene will take the stage at this year's Penticton Peach Festival.

Kyle McKearney has been booked as the opening act for the festival's Tim Horton's Country Night on Aug. 7, before headliner JoJo Mason performs.

McKearney has earned acclaim for his blend of country, blues, rock, and folk.

His sophomore album released in 2023, A Traveler91裸聊视频檚 Lament, won 11 awards from 26 nominations, including the prestigious Canadian Country Music Association (CCMA) Award for Alternative Country Album of the Year.

McKearney has shared the stage with the likes of Lainey Wilson, Darius Rucker and the Black Crowes.

His latest album, To The River, was released in 2024 and garnered attention with singles like Broken Hearts Hide and Tomorrow.

"We know festival-goers will love his performance and be blown away by the energy he brings to the stage," Forrest said.

Event organizers added that McKearney is "deeply shaped by his M茅tis heritage, which infuses his music with soulful storytelling and gritty instrumentation."

No tickets are required for the show, set to take place inside Okanagan Lake Park on the night of Aug. 7.

Penticton Peach Festival, one of Canada's longest-running summertime events, is free to attend and runs from Aug. 6 to 10.
