Kelly Leach and Craig Misfeldt have opened a brand new Dairy Queen Grill & Chill at 400 91ÂãÁÄÊÓƵ“ 1756 Pier Mac Way (Airport Centre). This is their second location. They opened their first Dairy Queen franchise in Lake Country at 10074 Hwy. 97 this past January. You can enjoy all your favorite DQ treats at this full service DQ including the triple truffle blizzard with fudge, peanut butter and caramel, which is the blizzard feature of the month for July. New to DQ is the DQ Bakes Snack Menu of soft pretzel sticks with zesty queso, potato skins or snack melts. Glow Juicery Kelowna has opened their second location in the new Okanagan Centre for Innovation building at 103 91ÂãÁÄÊÓƵ“ 470 Doyle Avenue. After 17 years with Tourism Kelowna, president and CEO Nancy Cameron is relocating with her family to Nanaimo. Nancy was responsible for evolving Tourism Kelowna into the current non-for-profit organization. The board of directors will begin a search for her replacement in the weeks ahead.

Shanelle Connell is a local girl who is studying psychology at UBCO and has been public speaking on the empowerment of women and personal relationships. She is currently a finalist in the Miss Universe Canada pageant and is using it as a platform to promote and raise awareness of the Okanagan Valley. She will compete in Toronto in September.
