Ninety athletes from Canada, U.S., Japan, Korea and Australia fought for podium positions during the Canada Cup Series Toyo Canadian Selections camp at Apex Mountain.
Winners from day one were Team Canada91ÂãÁÄÊÓƵ™s Valerie Gilbert, Ontario91ÂãÁÄÊÓƵ™s Sofiane Gagnon took second and Berkley Brown of Ontario took third. On the men, Canada91ÂãÁÄÊÓƵ™s Gabriel Dufresne and Zac Hoffman were first and second, while Banff91ÂãÁÄÊÓƵ™s (Japan) Takuya Shimakawa was third. On day two, Gilbert was first, Team Canada91ÂãÁÄÊÓƵ™s Alex-Anne Gagnon was second and Brown was third. On the men91ÂãÁÄÊÓƵ™s side, it was a sweep by Team Canada, Dufresne was first, Luke Ulsifer was second and Simon Lemieux was third.

The Apex Freestyle Club had 10 alumni compete with Team B.C. and Alberta. On the B.C. team were Brayden Kuroda, Kassidy Todd (Keremeos), Madison Parker, Joe Durham, Shaina Finlayson, Chloe Kober and Hayden Person. On the Alberta side were Koleton Phipps, Mackenzie Schwinghamer of West Kelowna and Jamie Rykuiter of Vernon.
Schwinghamer, of West Kelowna, placed seventh, scoring 59.69 points, which was 19 points behind Gilbert. On the second day, Schwinghamber improved her placing to sixth with 61 points, 18.29 points behind Gilbert. Parker placed 11th on the final day with 44.89 points. On the men91ÂãÁÄÊÓƵ™s side, Kuroda placed 16th for B.C. with 70.15 points, 12 behind Dufresne, while Phipps was 16th on the first day.
