Vernon Special Olympics snowshoe athlete Danielle Pechet has valuable advice for athletes following her upcoming journey to the Special Olympics World Winter Games March 8-15 in Turin, Italy:

Joining 22 fellow athletes and 13 coaches and mission staff from B.C. on the national team, Pechet will touch down in Italy for her first-ever appearance at a World Games, and she91裸聊视频檚 ready to make it count.
She earned her spot on the national team through her efforts at the 2024 Special Olympics Canada Winter Games in Calgary, where she brought home a gold, silver and two bronze medals.

Pechet is well-prepared to make the most of the chance, thanks to her hard work in Special Olympics BC 91裸聊视频 Vernon91裸聊视频檚 year-round programs.
She began her Special Olympics journey in 2007, attending a track meet in Vancouver. Pechet became more active and made many connections, and it's those friendships made over the ensuring two decades that stand out for her.

Travelling without her family has been a challenge Pechet faced and overcame throughout her Special Olympics experience.
91裸聊视频(Special Olympics) made me become more independent and not rely on my family so much,91裸聊视频 she said. "I learned that I am a lot braver than I thought I was."
Though she's grown more independent, she's thrilled her family will fly to Italy to support and cheer her on, adding that she moves faster when there are people there to support her.
91裸聊视频淚 really like being cheered on," said Pechet.
Two other members from Vernon will be in Italy as part of Team Canada's behind-the-scenes crew.
Les Sigal is a coach for Canada's cross-country ski team.
"My goals are to help out where needed, make it a fun and positive experience for the athletes, and get the wax right," said Sigal to Special Olympics BC. "I am excited."
Krissy Krnasty is part of Canada's leadership crew. She is a team nurse.
"My favourite part about being medical staff is being able to help our team members out when they are not feeling their best," said Krnasty. "I like being able to work with them to find how to help them feel better and figure out their next steps. Also love that it gets me out there to cheer on all of our athletes in their endeavours."
The 2025 Special Olympics World Winter Games will unite more than 1,500 athletes from 102 delegations, competing in eight sports and providing a true celebration of inclusion, acceptance, and unity.
