A quick trip to Seattle didn't fix the Kelowna Rockets as they lost their 11th straight game on Tuesday night (Feb. 11).

Facing off against the Thunderbirds, the last team the Rockets beat, it was a different result this time around as they lost 3-2.

After a scoreless first period, both teams struck in short succession of each other with powerplay goals. Seattle's Coster Dunn opened the scoring with his 19th goal of the season at the 6:04 mark but Kelowna's Hayden Paupanekis quickly struck back at the 1:12 later with his 18th goal of the campaign. Hiroki Gojsic and Dawson Gerwing assisted on the goal.

Later in the frame, a moment happened that Rowan Guest won't soon forget as he scored his first career WHL goal to give Kelowna a 2-1 lead.

But in the third period, Thunderbirds Matej Pekar found the back of the net to tie the game five minutes into the period. Then, with nine and a half minutes left to go in the game, Nathan Pilling scored his 23rd goal of the season for Seattle to take a 3-2 lead and not look back.

Rhett Stoesser was busy in net, as he made 34 saves in the loss for the Rockets, who are now 16-30-4-1 and 2-12-2-0 since Derrick Martin was named interim head coach. 

The Rockets will look to stop the skid on Friday night in Kamloops as they take on the Blazers at the Sandman Centre. Puck drop is at 7 p.m.
