91ÂãÁÄÊÓƵ˜Hawks fight back with Game 3 win over Rockets

Kelowna leads Western Conference semifinal two games to one

The Kelowna Rockets remain two wins away from a berth in the WHL91ÂãÁÄÊÓƵ™s Western Conference final.

The hometown Portland Winterhawks downed the Rockets 4-2 Tuesday night at Veterans Memorial Arena, cutting the Rockets lead to two games to one in the best-of-seven series.

Tied 1-1 after 20 minutes, the Winterhawks broke the game open with three unanswered goals in the second period.

Calvin Thurkauf scored both Kelowna goals, while linemate Reid Gardiner had a pair of assists.

Michael Herringer stopped 26 shots in the Rockets net, while Cole Kehler made 28 saves for Portland.

Game 4 goes Wednesday night in Portland, with Game 5 set for Friday night at Prospera Place.
