When it comes down to the reality of it all - history books won91ÂãÁÄÊÓƵ™t get it right.

They rarely do. Jill Tracy Jacobs Biden will prove to be one of the more famous, influential women in modern history, despite her name hardly mentioned during current impactful incidents that shape our future. Such is commonly the true reality for partners or silent supporters of famous spouses.

My wife Tez suggests, (and I believe she is accurate) that the main reason U.S. President Joe Biden has stepped out of the 2024 race for the big chair in the round white room is because his wife Jill told him to.

Truth be known Jill likely said, 91ÂãÁÄÊÓƵ˜Joe you are making an ass of yourself. Why not leave on your own accord, on top, rather than embarrasses yourself by having your own party give you the boot.91ÂãÁÄÊÓƵ™ Various reports suggest many Democrats encouraged Joe to step aside for the upcoming election, but he refused to until the first lady of the United States since 2021 spoke up.

Regardless of how the imperative decision took place last weekend 91ÂãÁÄÊÓƵ“ Biden91ÂãÁÄÊÓƵ™s stepping out the big ring eliminates the chances of an embarrassing loss at his own party nomination - or somehow surviving that only to take a thumping from (shudder) Donald Trump.

That91ÂãÁÄÊÓƵ™s pretty much how the battlefield scenario was lining up. Hard as it may have been to comprehend it seems Americans were preferring to support a narcissistic, scary, delusional yet strong Donald - rather than an older weaker, bumbling, perhaps dementia suffering Biden.

Biden91ÂãÁÄÊÓƵ™s performance during the June debate with the Donald was a nightmare for Democratic supporters with Joe clearly showing his mind and body were neither sharp nor engaged as in past battles. A number of times Biden seemed to lose focus with his answers and failed to show the gust or fight that he91ÂãÁÄÊÓƵ™s been known for. I was surprised he never went after Trump on his lies or twisted truths.

Biden, 81, will remain serving as President until the late January.

His voluntary removal allows for a tremendous resurgence of the democratic party as Vice President Kamala Harris steps into the spotlight full force.

91ÂãÁÄÊÓƵœI want to offer my full support and endorsement for Kamala to be the nominee of our party this year," Biden wrote. 91ÂãÁÄÊÓƵœDemocrats 91ÂãÁÄÊÓƵ” it91ÂãÁÄÊÓƵ™s time to come together and beat Trump.91ÂãÁÄÊÓƵ

It91ÂãÁÄÊÓƵ™s a brilliant move injecting instant energy into the Democrat war chest.

According to some news stations Biden91ÂãÁÄÊÓƵ™s decision was made at his Delaware beach house after being diagnosed with COVID-19.  Other sources say the COVID suggestion is not so. Regardless Biden91ÂãÁÄÊÓƵ™s stepping aside opens tremendous options on all fronts for both parties.

Should Harris win the Democratic nod she would prove a tremendous Trump opponent 91ÂãÁÄÊÓƵ“ a fact not just clear to Democrats.

Adding her inherent nationality and colour brings even greater interest to the mix at the election polls. Harris will draw support from many sources in addition to those who did not want to support Trump yet could not support a weak and confused Biden. With Harris the voters now have a candidate to lead their country that holds some hope.

If Democrat cornermen and strategist are smart they will not encourage a nomination battle but simply put their total energy and support behind Harris. There is little time left on the table and what there is can go towards a strong promotional campaign for Harris. It saves the party a lot of money, energy and disruption and sends forth a perceived united party image to the voters.

Should Harris win the big punch up she would be the first woman president in U.S. history.

Interesting how the Biden debate and now his stepping aside seem to have taken much of the media focus away from the attempted assassination of Trump at the Pennsylvania rally. Trump seems to remain unfazed by his near-death experience and I hope that is the case, but I wonder. Certainly, such a scenario would be disturbing.

I am sure Republican pr folks are scrambling to figure out how to get the focus and momentum back on their party now that Biden has stolen the momentary spotlight.

Biden91ÂãÁÄÊÓƵ™s departure is late in the U.S. political game. As Castanet reported last week, 91ÂãÁÄÊÓƵœA party91ÂãÁÄÊÓƵ™s presumptive presidential nominee has never stepped out of the race so close to the election. The closest parallel would be President Lyndon Johnson who, besieged by the Vietnam War, announced in March 1968 that he would not seek another term.91ÂãÁÄÊÓƵ

This twist in the saga has opened my interest in the election. I was previously not excited about watching another Trump gong show.

At least now Trump will have a fight on his hands.
