UPDATE 1:20 p.m.
The Kelowna Fire Department confirmed the small fire was in a unit on the second floor of the building. The unit suffered minor smoke and fire damage.
After investigating the room, it is believed the fire was started by a light fixture.
In total, the fire department responded with four engines, one rescue truck, one ladder truck, one command vehicle, a safety officer, an investigation officer and 18 fire personnel on scene.

Fire crews were on scene of a small blaze at The Flowr Group at 9590 McCarthy Road.
The initial call to the fire department was for a high occupancy alarm, however, there was soon reports of flames at about 8 a.m. Wednesday.
A fire at The Flowr Group near Lake Country was quickly put out by local Kelowna emergency services around 8a.m. this morning.

At least six fire trucks responded to the scene, as the building was being evacuated. Emergency crews blocked off McCarthy Road.

The fire was apparently quickly extinguished. The cause of the blaze is not yet known.
The Flowr Group is a global cannabis company that operates in Kelowna and cultivates cannabis.
A fire inside a building on McCarthy Road in has been put out. Six fire trucks responded to the scene.
