Two vehicles were involved in the accident that happened shortly before 4 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 30, at the intersection of Highway 6 and Kalamalka Lake Road.
Vernon North Okanagan RCMP say a GMC Traverse was making a left-hand turn onto Kalamalka Lake Road from the highway when it was struck on the passenger side by a pickup truck travelling east on Highway 6 through the intersection.
"After hitting the GMC, the pickup collided with and knocked over the traffic light," said Vernon North Okanagan RCMP media liaison officer Const. Chris Terleski Friday, Jan. 31.
Minor injuries were reported.
Traffic was impacted for a period of time as crews made the necessary repairs to the damaged infrastructure.

A crash is causing some major delays at a busy Vernon intersection.
The incident at Highway 6 and Kalamalka Lake Road occurred around 3:45 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 30.
The traffic lights are working. There is a pole knocked down.
Westbound traffic on Highway 6 getting through and eastbound traffic is detoured on Kal Lake Road.
"This is an absolute traffic disaster," The Morning Star's Roger Knox said.
"Eastbound on Highway 6 is a nightmare, traffic is backed up past the railway bridge."
Witnesses say at least three people including child being checked by ambulance personnel
