Tij Iginla expected back in Kelowna Rockets lineup Wednesday night

Tij Iginla will be back wearing the Ogopogo logo on Wednesday, Oct. 2 as the Kelowna Rockets host the Prince George Cougars.

The 18-year-old was assigned back to Kelowna from the Utah Hockey Club on Wednesday morning. Iginla was Utah's first round (sixth overall) selection in the 2024 NHL Draft.

Iginla appeared in two preseason games for Utah, collected an assist and averaging nearly 12 and a half minutes of ice time.

He brings a scoring punch back to the Rockets that's much needed as the team is has scored seven goals in three goals, and is 0-3 to start the year. Iginla finished second on the Rockets in points last year with 84 and led in goals with 47.

Of the seven Rockets invited to NHL training camps, all players are back in Kelowna except for two - Andrew Cristall (Washington) and Max Graham (New Jersey).

Kelowna and Prince George face off at Prospera Place at 7:05 p.m. on Wednesday night.
