Kelowna Rockets training camp to feature alumni coaches

As the summer comes to an end, hockey season is around the corner as Kelowna Rockets open training camp for the 2024-25 season.

Camp is set to get underway on Wednesday, Aug. 28 with a roster featuring five NHL-drafted players - Tij Iginla, Andrew Cristall, Caden Price, Hiroki Gojsic, and Max Graham. 

And this year, on top of the coaching staff, Rockets alumni Brett McLean, Josh Gorges, Shea Weber, and Luke Schenn will also be a part of it. They will split the current players into four teams and go through practice and game situations.

The Rockets preseason schedule starts when they play a home-and-home series with the Kamloops Blazers. Friday, Sept. 6 is in Kamloops and then Saturday's is back at Prospera Place.

The regular season starts on Saturday, Sept. 21 when the Rockets host the Portland Winterhawks.
