Valhalla Helicopters is offering a shuttle service for people who must get to Kelowna while the William R. Bennett Bridge remains closed due to a police incident.
"If it's an absolute dire need to get to Kelowna or West Kelowna, that's an option we wanted to put out to the public," said Claire Savege, marketing manager with Valhalla Helicopters.
The cost is $680, however, a helicopter can accommodate up to four passengers, which breaks down to $170 per person. The shuttle is flying between the company's location at 100 Stevens Road in West Kelowna to the Kelowna International Airport. If someone needs to fly to another destination, Savege said can be arranged.
"We can adjust the financing for that, it would be more like a charter flight, but we do have that option."
Savege added that helicopters are ready to go when customers need to. "It's call to go. We have pilots on standby. We'll try and put people in together to make it more affordable."
Valhalla Helicopters phone number is 250-769-1486.
