RCMP officers surrounded a Lake Country townhouse lake Monday night, into Tuesday morning (Jan. 27-28).

RCMP were on scene of a Lake Country home late Monday night and into Tuesday morning (Jan. 27-28).

According to multiple Facebook posts, RCMP were focused on a residence on Lake Hill Drive in The Lakes community at about midnight. In one social media video, an officer can be heard saying through a megaphone, "Come out the back door with your hands up, you will not be hurt."

On Tuesday, RCMP confirmed to Black Press Media that officers were called to the scene because of possible weapons in the area.

As of 6:30 a.m., one RCMP cruiser remained out front of the residence while another was parked on Cliffshore Drive.

"Officers remain on scene investigating so no other information can be released," stated RCMP.

There is no danger to public safety.
