Cold weather protocols implemented as Kelowna temps hit -10

The wind chill will have it feeling like -17 overnight

The City of Kelowna is preparing to deploy warming buses and a stationary warming tent as temperatures drop. 

Frontline agencies will be dispersed around the city conducting wellness checks and handing out warming supplies. 

Warming buses will be around the city today, Feb. 3, from 4-8 p.m. and a warming tent will be open at the designated outdoor shelter site on Weddell Place from 5 p.m. until 8 a.m.

Flurries are anticipated through the evening with and the wind chill is expected to make the temperature feel colder than -17C overnight.
