New canine cafe invites all, big and small to hang out and enjoy beverages and treats

The mother-daughter duo who own Kelowna's first dog cafe are finally able to say that their dream hang-out spot is now a reality.

So Fetch, located on Ellis Street in Kelowna is now open to pups and their paw-rents. The cafe and social club offers pup-friendly mock-'tails', fancy dog treats and meals, as well as coffee, snacks, beer and cider for human customers.

The shop's official grand opening will take place on October 19, from 1-5 p.m.

Lyndsey Puhalsky and her mother had the idea to open a dog-focused hang-out spot after struggling to find an indoor place to socialize without leaving their pups at home.

"We took the best of everything from around the world to create this space," said Puhalsky. She and her pup have travelled extensively and want to bring some of California's dog-friendly atmosphere to Kelowna.

Puhalsky's pup Sage the Pomeranian 91ÂãÁÄÊÓƵ“ who has the title of So Fetch's top taste-tester 91ÂãÁÄÊÓƵ“ helped to develop a menu of mock-tails and meals, treats and snacks that are appetizing to even the pickiest pooch.

While So Fetch does sell pre-packaged snacks, people are welcome to bring their own food into the cafe since health regulations limit what can be sold to or made for humans in a dog-friendly space.

In addition to food treats and beverages, So Fetch is focused on creating an inclusive and welcoming community for all people and their pets.

People can look forward to movie nights, wellness events and hangouts over the coming months.

Those looking for a space to work remotely for a few hours or need to organize a meeting are welcome to come and work with their pet at the shop.

There are mats for pups to snooze on while their paw-rents talk business and a ball pit to play in if they get restless.

All dogs are required to be on a leash and abide by So Fetch's rules, which include respecting other's personal space. People with nervous pups or those with questions are invited to call before visiting to make arrangements for a quiet spot to hang out at (250) 762-5667.
