On Oct. 18, get ready to rock out at the Summerland Community Centre with Moving Lines.

Having been described as 91ƵPainters of Sound,91Ƶ Summerland duo Kevin and Jill Fai collaborate to produce music with an 91Ƶ80s flair and energy.

Jill has a rare hard rock voice that reverberates with the echoes of Ann Wilson and Ellen McIlwaine - it will send a tingle down your spine.  If you love big female voices that can shake a stadium, she has it.

Kevin backs her up with impressive rhythmic guitar and deep soulful harmonies that blend techniques from their mentors to form original compositions with a classic vibe from decades gone by that91Ƶs both inspirational and expressive 91Ƶ creating music that makes you feel.

Rock, blues, jazz and metal bands like Big Wreck, Heart, Kim Mitchell, Aretha Franklin, April Wine, Sass Jordan, Chris Cornell, Autograph, Nina Simone, Alice In Chains, Lee Aaron, and Ghost have provided a wealth of musical inspiration for Moving Lines.

The stories they produce are about the difficulties and emotions people experience in life. Their philosophy is very Yin and Yang 91Ƶ that there is strength in vulnerability and that being strong also brings about vulnerability.

In other words, in order to survive, one needs the other - like the two sides of a coin.  This perspective mobilizes the passion in their music and allows them to 91Ƶpaint the albums of your life without fear of who you are.91Ƶ

This dynamic duo has won the 2024 ISSA Award for best songwriting duo. They are also nominated for a Josie award. The ceremonies for which take place in Nashville, just one week after the Summerland concert.

The concert is Friday, Oct. 18 from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Summerland Community Centre.  Tickets are $20 for the public and $15 for centre members at Artisans of the Okanagan (cash only, please).  However, you can reserve e-tickets by e-transferring your payment and request to summerlandcommunitycentre@gmail.com.
