As an engineer who travelled to many parts of the world during his working career, Jake Thiessen has witnessed firsthand the hardship caused by a shortage of food.

This Saturday, Thiessen is among a number of local volunteers who will be staging the Swing at World Hunger golf tournament at Orchard Greens.

All proceeds will go to the Canadian Foodgrains Bank, which provides education, resources and food to address the problem of hunger in countries around the world.

91裸聊视频淎 major part of Canadian Foodgrains Bank91裸聊视频檚 activity is in places like Africa and Asia and recently in Syria where there are so many refugees now,91裸聊视频 said Thiessen.

91裸聊视频淲e see it as one of the better organizations that gets the money out there where it91裸聊视频檚 needed, they have a low overhead and help a lot of starving children and families with the work they do in these countries.

Founded in the 1980s, Canadian Foodgrains Bank is a partnership of 15 churches and church agencies working together to help end global hunger.

For every dollar raised by the CFGB, the Canadian government provides $4 in matching funds.

The cost for the 18-hole tournament and buffet lunch is $100 per person and includes a $40 tax receipt.

There will also be a silent auction.
