UBC Okanagan students, followed by the general public, have the chance to learn about Canada's relationship with both Palestine and Israel.
On Friday, Feb. 28, Dr. Muhannad Ayyash and Dr. Jeremy Wildeman will be at the university to speak to students with the theme titled Understanding Canada91ÂãÁÄÊÓƵ™s Complicity in the Genocide of Palestinians.
The talk will be about the history of Canada's relationship with Palestine and Israel dating back to 1948.
Both doctors are also co-editors of the book Canada As A Settler Colony On The Question Of Palestine, which was named Best Edited Collection in Canadian Studies at the 2024 Canadian Studies Network.
On March 1, the seminar will be open to the public and taking place at the Kelowna Unitarian church located at 1310 Bertram St. from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.
The event is put on by the Canadians for Justice and Peace in the Middle East (CJPME): Okanagan and Kelowna Unitarians as well as the Amnesty International Okanagan and Central Okanagan United Church.
